Beef Curry

Beef Curry
Which also works well with Pork and a friend even uses fish.
2 Tbs margarine / butter / oil
2 big onions, chopped
2 apples, pealed and chopped
1 Tbs curry powder
Garlic
1 tsp each of tumeric, cinnamon & origanum
750g meat, chopped
1 tsp salt
50ml chutney
25ml vinegar
1 Tbs brown sugar
200ml tomato sauce
1 cup water (if using a slow cooker do not add extra water)
2 bay leaves (I don’t normally have these)
½ cup coconut
100ml sultanas (optional)
cream or milk (optional)

Fry onion and apples in the marg / butter / oil
Add curry, garlic, spices and meat.
When the meat is brown add the rest except cream/milk.
Cook in pressure cooker at red (meat) for 15 – 20 min.
Add milk (or a little bit of corn flour and water if you want to thicken up the sauce)

If using a slow cooker you can put all the ingredients (except cream/milk and water) into your slow cooker and cook for 8 to 12 hours.
