Surgery on a bus...

Yes, surgery on a bus. This morning Brendon had a hernia operation on this bus - parked outside our local medical clinic.
It's called "mobile surgical services" and this bus drives around the country doing operations to reduce the waiting periods for those operations at the hospitals. Brendon had seen the doc in March and so we were very happy that his waiting time was only 2 months.
The one nurse said that this theatre is bigger than some she has worked at in some hospitals. They were happy for me to take some photos (then I went to wait in the medical centre). Amazing how it's set up. And although Brendon did take that big jacket off, they did not even worry about him wearing a silly hospital gown.
Rachel asked me to get a photo of the fancy "equipment".
The staff were all so very friendly and we were home by 2pm. Again I was so thankful for Lynn who came over at 7:30am to watch the girls for us. It was so much nicer for me to take him and stay with him. I also got quite a bit of reading done while he was in theatre and recovery (which was a nice break for me).

Wow pretty cool, they use the same sort of Trucks in the UK. Martin used to work for Netcare and they use to have the contract to do Cataract operations in the same sort of truck.

Mike has his hernia op in one of these too, over here it is because the hospitals get too full so they need medical buses for some of the ops.
