Valentines Day and Rugby???

I made a special chocolate cake for Brendon for Valentines day and as we had originally planned to go into town on Saturday, we started enjoying the cake on Friday. BUT our plans changed....
as Brendon got offered free tickets to the Super 14 Rugby. It was really great to think his Dad would be able to say he had watched a Rugby match here in NZ. So we were all very excited for them. When Brendon called on Saturday morning to organize to collect the tickets, he thankfully found out there were 4 tickets and not just the 2 he had been told about.
Brendon chatted with his Mom and she said she would be happy to stay at home with the little two so WOW, Rachel and I were so excited, we got to go with. This was such a lovely surprise.
Rachel even asked Nana (out of her own initiative) if she wanted to go. That she would be happy to not go and I organize a baby sitter for all the girls. I was so thankful for Rachel's love and self-sacrifice in offering this.
I can not describe Rachel's excitement when she saw this. I left the person in the photo on the bottom right so that you see how BIG this thing was. Not only is Rachel horse MAD, but she has been a Crusaders fan since we arrived in NZ.
They had some "toys" for the children.
Please notice that Rachel has RED pants on. She does not have a red skirt (and she is almost always in a skirt) so the pants had to come out of the cupboard. She actually specifically put these pants on this morning just because Crusaders were playing and her Dad was going to watch.
The band was very good.
But this must have been the highlight for Rachel. :-) And the fact that Crusaders WON!!!!
The city from the stadium on our way down. It had been raining for most of the week (we are sure the grandparents brought the rain with them from SA) and so we were really so pleased to have a beautiful clear sky for the game.
