This morning Ruth came to me and said what sounded like "toe in kitchen". I said "toe" and she said "no - toe". She was quite frustrated and tried very hard to say what she was trying to say - it just kept coming out as "toe". So off she went to the kitchen, came back and showing me her finger and saying "ice". I could see her finger was wet and so asked her where she got the ice from. She told me "the kitchen". So we went to the kitchen and she showed me where she had gotten it and said "toe". I then realized she was trying to say "snow".
Well done Ruth for finding another word to explain things to Mom.
