Presents, pests & power

Rachel is learning to cross-stitch. Here her and I are working on presents for people.
It has been very dry over the last month and because of that food for the sheep is scarce. So we regularly have the neighbours (not Bob) sheep jumping the fence to come and eat some of our grass. With us watering the veggie garden there is some green grass around there - so that is one of the favorite spots. I asked Rachel to chase the sheep and Ruth got very excited and said she wanted to go chase it. So here she is (smaller than the sheep by far) chasing it back to its field. She is so cute. She does not have to clap or shout she just runs and the sheep knows to make tracks. We sat without power today from just after 5pm till 9pm. This tree was the main reason, it had snapped one of the wires. They cut the whole lot down so that we don't have problems again.
The wind again this afternoon was just incredibly strong and we were again very thankful that no branches fell on the house. There was a fire in the area and apparently our whole area was out for a few hours. Thankfully Brendon spotted this wire broken so that we could report it specifically. If we had not done so they would have assumed our power was back on when the area was fixed.
Rachel and I had been looking forward to watching "Ice Princess" on TV from 7:30 (another "spoil" these holidays) and we were disappointed when we could not. At the same time through there was just so very much to be thankful for.
We had fish and chips for dinner and as I took it out the oven the power went off.
What God timing.
I am also so thankful for all the people who work on public holidays and even after 9pm. Thinking about the fire fighters and all the electrical workers (not to mention all those people who answer all the telephone calls reporting the problems). The wind really did do quite a bit of damage and there where a number of areas with problems.
I was thankful that we had power back on so quickly and it also made me very thankful for electricity (and my computer).
