Birthday surprise

I surprised Brendon today by organizing for the girls to go to Julia for a couple of hours this morning so that Brendon and I could go "out for coffee" at the local coffee shop. We don't get to "go out" on our own much and so it was a really special time for us. At 9am I said "lets pack the car, we are going out". Brendon had no idea what was happening. It was so nice to do something special for him for his birthday (even though his birthday is only on Tuesday).
Again Julia was so very creative with the girls while they visited. When we arrived both Rachel and Ruth had been "dressed" by Rachel's creations. She had taken peaces of material and "designed" their outfits (I should have taken a photo). Rachel also made this "birthday card" on a peace of bark for Brendon. Thank you Julia and Rachel - it's very special.
Brendon's "card" which now hangs on the wall.
With Rachel's "Ancient Rome" unit study we decided to build a puzzle on the theme too. It's a 1000 peace, so it should be fun to see how long it takes us to get done. We got the puzzle out the library along with LOADS of Ancient Rome books.
A very beautiful picture with lots of different colours (which helps a LOT).
All the girls really enjoy these ice lollies on these hot days.
