Christmas Focus

We have had our new Nativity Scene on the dining room table this month and it has been a lovely reminder 3 times a day, that the reason for Christmas is to remember Christ's birth.
It was also nice that this set had the wise men bringing gifts. We could tell Ruth that the reason we give gifts is to remember that Christ is God's gift to us and we can remember that the wise men brought gifts to Jesus when He was born.
It has been very special to hear how Ruth's prayers at night have changed from "thank you for the food (the first thing she learnt to pray for at meals), thank you for my bed (and then she will list everyone else in the family and thank God for their beds)" to more recently added items like "thank you Jesus born".

It was lovely to have all the biscuits to give away, but we also made a few "families" of lady birds for presents too. Rachel gave a set to her Ballet teacher on the concert day and it was lovely to get an e-mail from her with a photo of her lady birds. It is so nice for the girls to experience the joy of giving.

This is the lovely bag that Rachel made for Dad's MP3 player. He listens to sermons to and from work on it and he has wanted a bag for it so that it does not get damaged. So he was very thankful for such a useful and well made present.
Good job Rachel.
