Motivation is amazing

Last night the girls started watching The Nutcracker after Brendon left for bible study. This morning I said they could carry on watching it once Rachel was finished her work. I was amazed when by 9:30, other than music practice, she had finished it ALL. I have been surprised at how much Hannah has enjoyed watching it. Ruth and Rachel just love recognising music from watching a production here in NZ at the end of last year. They also recognise pieces their teacher has used for different concert pieces over the last few years. It has motivated Rachel to try play some of the pieces on her violin. In the Christmas book we bought her (Carols and Traditional Classics) there are a few from the Nutcracker. She has decided to start on "Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy". When Rachel was practicing upstairs Ruth said to me "Rachel is playing the Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy". What a blessing to have knowledge of such lovely music a natural part of their education.
I got loads more scanning done today. Over 300 photos scanned in already. It has been so nice traveling down memory lane. :-)
