Ruth has been so very excited about her birthday today. There must be something very special about turning 5. :-) Even though she went to bed a little late last night because of finishing up her cake - she was still up at the crack of dawn today. Up much earlier than she usually is and dressed immediately too (which does not normally happen). She was even up just before me and then I realized I had not yet wrapped her presents. So I quickly got that done and she was excited about all her gifts.
She is also very pleased with her cake.
And then more gifts from her friends. What a treat.
Time for the cake. So nice to have so many friends join us for the morning.
The candles proved to be quite a job to blow out. :-)
Then it was time for a "teddy show" (not a puppet show). Rachel and the older girls had practiced a "Gingerbread man" story and so put on a show after morning tea.
The children then had fun playing upstairs while the mothers enjoyed some chatting time.
And then more gifts from her friends. What a treat.
