ANZAC Day

The one day I delay getting dressed in the morning and Brendon catches a photo. He is feeling slightly better this morning and managed to eat a piece of toast for breakfast. He is still feeling very weak though.
I finally got a photo of Tiger after one of his baths. It did rain a lot yesterday and so we know there is water about, but it has happened a few times where he comes back to the house looking as wet as this. I think there must be a place he goes fishing. It does not seem to worry him at all. So he is aptly named "Tiger" as Tigers love water.
Rachel and I got dressed in our Guiding Uniforms and joined the crowds at the local ANZAC day service. Ruth came with but Brendon stayed home with Hannah so that he could get a bit more rest. This was Rachel's third time attending as the Brownies attend every year. It was my first though and I was very glad I went. It was a good time of reflecting and it was also good to talk to some of the folk afterwards about their memories from the war and stories of their family's involvement.
There were only two girls from our District at this service today and Lucy said that Rachel could carry the wreath. So that was special for her. After the service in the War Memorial Hall we marched down the road (all the uniformed people marking in the front) for the wreath laying.
It was quite moving hearing the bugle being played after the names had been read out of the soldier who died in the World Wars who were from this area.
