Rachel and I were devastated this morning to hear from Brendon that Smokey had knocked over the ferret trap last night to get the meat and had been killed. We just cried and cried. Smokey was a very special cat - especially to Ruth. Ruth and Hannah have just spoken about it through the day and both seem to be handling it fine. I think Ruth was comforted when I said we would try and get her another kitten. Smokey really will be very missed.
