Heavenly Host praising God

"And the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths, and lying in a manger'. And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased." Luke 2:10-14
Rachel did her fourth report in with the library today and so has already received her invitation to the finale (party) on the 30th Jan. The librarian had a favour to ask her though. Rachel had told her previously about reading The Secret Garden and she asked if she would mind checking to see if the DVD worked. She had someone complain that it would get stuck but she suspects it's the ladies machine. So although it would only cost us $2, there was no charge and Rachel and I enjoyed watching it this afternoon (and the DVD did not stick at all).
Little Smokey is so affectionate and Rachel and I had a good laugh at all the positions he got himself into while we watched. Happily sleeping with his head lower than his body and tucked into my arm. Sweet little thing.
And for those of you who have been wondering, the cats chosen sleeping spot outside is Ruth's bike seat. Brendon took this photo last week when he left at 5:30 for work.
This afternoon we quickly got the grass cut and then headed off to for our first swim. The water was 21 and so felt quite good compared to last year. They installed solar heating panels last Sunday so although they have only been there for just over a week, I think they are going to help take the chill off.
Hannah is tall enough to walk around the baby pool now. She had a fun time jumping up and down while holding Dad's hands.
Rachel giving Ruth a horse back ride in the big pool. The girls really enjoyed coming down. I hope we have many good days over the next couple of months so we can enjoy it often.
