Art lessons and reading time

One of the items Rachel bought with her birthday money was oil pastels. So finally today she got her first "lesson" from Mom. She made thank you cards for all the friends who came to her party (and she needs to hand them out at Brownies tomorrow).
Rachel did a really good job. She was not very happy with them, but I think for a first time she did really well. My example for her is the top card and she was fascinated as the different aspects came together. She loved how I managed to use 3 colours on the flowers. :)
Ruth is really starting to enjoy story books being read to her and Hannah has finally been allowed to page through "real" books (rather than just the board books). If Hannah sees someone sitting on the floor she will more than likely go up to them, turn around and "reverse" in so that she can sit on your lap. Even if the lap is Ruth's and actually especially Ruth. If Ruth is on the floor Hannah will make a bee line for her. She just loves playing rough with her.
