Fireworks 2016

Off to the Waiau Fireworks again. It's always such a highlight for the children. Hezekiah was especially looking forward to going on the cars. Hannah went with and started driving. Unfortunately they didn't get to swap around, so he was not very pleased with the fact that he didn't get to try and drive.
Asher had a 1 minute Tonic Clonic at 5pm. Thankfully we had only planned to leave later, so we were still at home. The fireworks only start once it's really dark (after 9pm) so we only left home after 7. So she had time to rest and feel better before we left.
Hannah brought Kiri with too. What a great weekend for her to have the class bird visiting with her.
Asher was exhausted and if it had been a bit longer before the fireworks started, she would have been asleep.
Brendon took the "family photo" so it's missing him. Rachel was just checking the time on her phone, but it makes for a nice photo to "tease" about her being a teenager on her phone. ;-)

I was a bit nervous about how Asher would do with the fireworks. Hoping that the bright lights would not be a trigger for seizures. It was hard to try and capture her fun on a photo. She was thrilled with them (even though the photo focuses on her protecting her eyes from the bright lights).
Pity her eyes closed when the flash went off. She often would point up to the fireworks with a huge smile on her face. I was so pleased she could enjoy them as much as the other children did. We had some very tired children heading home though and we were all very happy to crawl into bed. :-) I was so pleased we got to enjoy the outing as a family (I had been tempted to just stay home with Asher).
