Long bike ride & quick curtains

Rachel was excited to take Grandpa on a bike ride today. She took him down to the pond / dam at the bottom of our neighbours farm. The same place she had taken Dad too and so thankfully this time she knew the most direct route. :-)
After almost 2 hours they returned. Don't worry, they were not cycling for all that time. Rachel put on a concert while they were there and they enjoyed biscuits and cool drink. It was still quite a ride though and I don't think Grandpa plans to do it again on this holiday.
So I am making the most of having "live-in-babysitters" and so finally got to make some curtains for the girls room.
These are the curtains that were here when we moved in. They make it really hard for the girls in summer when they have to go to bed and the sun is still shining in for hours.
So while in town yesterday I got some good curtaining material with "black-out" on the back of it. So you don't need to line them (which makes sewing them really quick) and they keep out ALL the light. I got some material for our room too and was pleasantly surprised at the price. Not nearly as much as I expected to pay (especially with the height of our windows).
