Happy Birthday Nana!!!

It was lovely for the girls to be able to celebrate Nana's birthday with her today. Rachel had made this cross-stitch for her (with a bit of help from Mom). It's a fridge magnet (a cross stitch on a strong plastic, so it is the shape of the teddies - you can just see the edge of the see-through plastic).
And finally the first family of lady birds that we made last year could be given to their new owner. Nana noticed our "family" on the window sill in the kitchen just a day or two ago and I looked over at Rachel and motioned for her to not say anything. It will be nice for Nana to see these around her home and remember how much she is loved.
Grandpa took us all out for lunch at the "Mud House" to celebrate Nana's Birthday. Unfortunately they had a wedding on in the afternoon and as it was a rainy day had to set up inside. So we had lunch in another section of the restaurant and although it was not in the fancy room, the food was definitely VERY fancy (and VERY tasty too).
This was the smaller of the two "platters for two" that the four adults shared. We tucked in too quickly to the other one for me to get a nice photo. They had such lovely things and it was really delicious.
Thanks Dad, it was our first time in a NZ restaurant and it was lovely.
Rachel's "children's meal".
Ruth's "chicken and chips".
And instead of having desert at the restaurant we had afternoon tea with Nana's Pavlova "Birthday Cake". The girls made sure we put candles on and sang Happy Birthday.
Just as I was finishing up the Pavlova Bob arrived (our neighbour) with some lamb for us. So he joined us for afternoon tea which was nice.
Nana said it was a very special day and that she was glad she could be here with us. So were we.
